Like many of you, I love to read. But, with such a busy lifestyle and so many distractions, it's often hard to find time to sit down and enjoy a good book. Reading is a great activity to support a healthy and well-balanced life. Not only do we gain knowledge from books, but reading can promote overall brain health as well as provide a relaxing form of stress relief.
So, my simple little plan to get more reading into my life is the "Just 5 Pages" plan. My reading time is just before I go to bed. Often I am extremely tired when I actually hit the sheets and I think I'll just skip the reading and go right to sleep. But instead, I tell myself that I'll read just 5 pages. More often than not, those pages come and go and I have finished a chapter or two. Now, I'm not recommending that you stay up all night reading and end up sleep deprived, but by just making a concerted effort to spend a few minutes reading each day you may end up actually finishing that book that has been languishing on your bedside table for months.
