Jinxy Knows Best: Ready for Breakfast? Three Sisters Cereal Review and Reader Giveaway

Those of you who read Jinxy Knows Best regularly probably already know that I am pretty much addicted to Steel Cut Oats made overnight in the slowcooker. BUT, I also don't always get my act together enough to make them before I go to bed and sometimes I want "breakfasty" foods at other times of day. Soooooo....when Three Sisters Cereal asked if I would like to try some of their cereal and oatmeal products, I was happy to oblige.

As a bit of background, Three Sisters offers a full line of all natural cereals and oatmeal that taste good and are environmentally conscious. They use less packaging so there is less waste (i.e. their cereal comes in bags instead of boxes and the oatmeal boxes are much smaller than what you're used to seeing.) They even use renewable wind energy to make their cereals. On to the taste test. I first tried the Sweet Wheat Cereal, one of their 6 varieties of cereal. Sweet Wheat is an all-natural sweetened whole grain wheat cereal - basically a shredded wheat. I'm already a shredded wheat fan when I opt for cold cereal and this is one of the best I have tasted. It has a light quality that disguises the fact your actually getting 6 grams of dietary fiber in every 1 cup serving.

Next up was the oatmeal. I was dying to try the Dark Chocolate oatmeal - it has real chocolate morsels in it! It was very yummy and actually tasted more like a dessert than a breakfast. Last, but definitely not least, was the Cinnamon & Apples Oatmeal. I loved this! It's not just oatmeal, is a multigrain hot cereal that includes brown rice, flaxeed, barley, quinoa, rye and wheat. It had a hearty texture and was just chock-full of goodness with the dried apple pices and cranberries adding the right touch of sweetness. This cereal gives my beloved steel cut oats a run for their money. The Cinnamon & Apples has officially earned an official place in my regular cereal repertoire. - That's my own picture on the right (yes, it was so good that I had to take a picture!)
